  1. In a large skillet or pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add the diced bell peppers and halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
  3. Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a boil. Stir in the spaghetti, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cover the skillet. Cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is al dente and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
  5. Once cooked, remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil until well combined.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with additional basil and Parmesan if desired.
