Ingredients
- 4 slices of thick bread (preferably brioche or challah)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- Maple syrup for serving

- Fresh berries for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and sugar until well combined.
- Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add the unsalted butter, allowing it to melt and coat the surface.
- Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated but not soaking wet, then let any excess drip off.
- Place the coated bread slices onto the heated skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Once cooked, remove the French toast from the skillet and keep warm while you repeat the process with the remaining slices.
- Serve the French toast warm, drizzled with maple syrup, and optionally dusted with powdered sugar and topped with fresh berries.
