Delicious Christmas Dinner Recipe for the Perfect Holiday Feast

This Christmas dinner recipe features a mouthwatering roast turkey, savory stuffing, and delectable sides to create the ultimate holiday meal....

Ingredients

  • 1 whole turkey (12-14 lbs)
  • 2 cups bread cubes (stale or toasted)
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon sage, dried
  • 1 tablespoon thyme, dried
  • 1 tablespoon rosemary, dried
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups green beans, trimmed
  • 2 cups cranberry sauce
  • 4 large carrots, sliced
  • 1 cup mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup gravy

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Rinse the turkey under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels. Season the inside and outside of the turkey generously with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes, diced celery, and diced onion. Pour the melted butter over the mixture, followed by the chicken broth, sage, thyme, and rosemary. Mix well until the bread is evenly moistened.
  3. Stuff the turkey cavity with the bread mixture, securing it with toothpicks or kitchen twine. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover it loosely with aluminum foil.
  4. Roast the turkey in the preheated oven for about 3 to 3.5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Remove the foil during the last 30 minutes of cooking to allow the skin to brown.
  5. While the turkey is roasting, steam the green beans and carrots until tender, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper before serving.
  6. Prepare the mashed potatoes according to your favorite recipe, and heat the gravy on the stovetop until warm.
  7. Once the turkey is done, let it rest for at least 20 minutes before carving. Serve with cranberry sauce, green beans, carrots, mashed potatoes, and gravy for a complete Christmas dinner.
