  • 1/2 cup leche flan (caramel custard), cubed
  • 1/2 cup ube (purple yam) ice cream
  • 1/4 cup coconut gel (nata de coco)
  • 1/4 cup sweetened macapuno (coconut sport)
  • 1/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup toasted rice (pinipig) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Begin by preparing your ingredients: sweeten the red beans, jackfruit, and banana in separate bowls and set aside.
  2. In a tall glass or bowl, layer 1/2 cup of the sweetened red beans at the bottom.
  3. Add 1/2 cup of the sweetened jackfruit over the beans, followed by 1/2 cup of the sweetened banana slices.
  4. Next, add a layer of 1/2 cup of coconut gel and then 1/2 cup of sweetened macapuno on top of the fruits.
  5. Carefully pile 2 cups of finely shaved ice over the fruit layers, allowing it to form a small mountain shape.
  6. Drizzle 1/4 cup of evaporated milk and 1/4 cup of condensed milk generously over the shaved ice.
  7. Top the halo halo with cubes of leche flan and finish with a scoop of ube ice cream.
  8. Sprinkle toasted rice (pinipig) on top for an extra crunch, and serve immediately with a spoon and straw.
