Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 cup water
- 8 taco shells
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
- 1 avocado, diced
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1 lime, cut into wedges
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat, then add the ground beef, cooking until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the taco seasoning and water, mixing well. Simmer on low heat for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- While the beef is simmering, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and arrange the taco shells on a baking sheet.
- Bake the taco shells in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes until they are crispy.
- Once the beef is ready and the shells are baked, set up a taco bar with all the toppings: place the lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, jalapeños, diced avocado, and chopped cilantro in separate bowls.
- Serve the crispy taco shells alongside the seasoned beef and toppings, allowing everyone to build their own tacos as they like.
- Garnish with lime wedges for an extra burst of flavor, and enjoy your Family Taco Night!
